DANIEL

DANIEL FORT

Editor

Got his first job in the movie industry changing the marquee and ushering at the local cinema at age 16.

Dan is a Vietnam era veteran who served in the Navy's elite motion picture team--the Pacific Fleet Combat Camera Group. He was graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a degree in Journalism and graduated with distinction from Art Center College of Design as a Photography major.

His first job on a feature film was working as an apprentice editor on the ultra low budget "El Mariachi." He has worked on over 20 studio and independent films such as "Desperado," "From Dusk Till Dawn," "Stuart Little" and has consulted on several features edited on Final Cut Pro including "Full Frontal" by Steven Soderbergh, "Intolerable Cruelty" by Joel and Ethan Coen and "Cold Mountain" edited by Walter Murch.

In 1999 he was awarded best editing for a short at the New York Film and Video Festival and in 2000 he worked on "Bojangles" for Showtime --one of the first features edited on Final Cut Pro.

Dan has played a major role in the development of Apple Cinema Tools and has taught the proper use of Final Cut Pro/Cinema Tools at DigitalFilm Tree. While beta testing Final Cut Pro he edited the acclaimed feature, "A Day Without A Mexican," which won him best editing at the 2004 Guadalajara Film Festival.

Dan currently works at DreamWorks Animation in Glendale, California.
